My longtime collaborator and musical brother, Patrick Dethlefs, and I went to a yurt in Northern New Mexico with the intent of writing an album. Well, we did, and it is coming out this fall. We're previewing with some shows in July. Come say hi!

My fourth LP, "Burden of Paradise", is an epic ride, a heavy, cinematic, conceptual mid-apocalyptic spaghetti western. I heard the main theme echoing off the red rock canyons of the Maze district in Canyonlands. The foundation was recorded live and mixed by Mark Anderson with the trio (Blake Stepan-bass, Michael McKee-drums), with help from Mike Lang, Sarah & Susan Anderson, mastered by Timothy Stollenwerk.
Caribou: Landscapes Volume 1 was created during a week-long artist in residency in September 2020 at Caribou Ranch. Each of these aleatoric instrumental tracks is an aleatoric collaboration with the patterns of nature and the environment, a sort of "en plein air" approach to musical composition.
